Nick –Leader of the half-breeds and the last true hero. He’s spent his life fighting a dark pull toward the gods. A pull he now knows is linked to his father Krónos and the Titan’s plan to escape from the Underworld.

But Nick’s hidden powers are coveted by more than just his father. Imprisoned by Hades, Nick battles every form of torture imaginable as the sadistic god schemes to break him. Only one thing is keeping him sane. One woman who gives him the strength to fight the relentless darkness. She has a dangerous plan of her own, though, and as Nick’s powers grow stronger, even she might not be enough to alter his destiny.

As the fate of the world hangs in the balance, Nick’s allegiances are tested. And no one knows whether he will choose to fight for good or succumb to the sinister lure of evil. Not even him.

It’s a classic love story. Boy meets girl in a torture chamber, girl tortures boy, girl helps boy escape, they fall in love and live happily every after. TWISTED picks up six months after BOUND. We find Nick still in the hands of Zagreus, Hades’ detestable son. Zagreus has tried everything he can to break Nick and harness the powers inside of him, and time is running out. He comes up with a bright idea to release him with his mistress of torture, Cynna, but she has other plans.

TWISTED was amazing. I absolutely love this series, and these books just keep getting better and better. It’s rare that you get to book seven in a series and find that each book is as great as the previous if not better, but this one has to be the best of the series. All the characters we have met and gotten to know over the previous six books are back in this story as well.

Nick has always been brooding and closed off. He’s had a complicated relationship with his brother and with Isadora. All of that comes to a head in this book when we delve into Nick’s story line and bring some of these things to a close while opening a brand new storyline for him to follow.

We first meet Cynna at the end of book six, BOUND, when Nick is brought to Zagreus. She is there as a willing participant but she doesn’t seem overly excited to be there. We get to explore more about her background and why she’s with Zagreus. Her storyline was a complete shock to me and brought past events into a whole new light. She’s tough and she has a chip on her shoulder, but she’s also vulnerable. Watching the two play off each other beginning as enemies and then growing into much more was a real treat to read. Their love scenes were amazingly steamy and there were plenty to enjoy.

I love how all the books are so very well planned out. The stage for this book was set as far back as book one. For this reason, I would not recommend that you jump in at this point, go back and start with book one, MARKED. The series really should be read in order to get the most out of it. If Greek Mythology interests you, then you really need to be reading this series. The gods from all those myths are alive and well and scheming against their fellow gods like never before. In this book alone we see Zagreus, Hades, Zeus, and Poseidon. References are made to Athena and as well as Titans Kronos and Prometheus. The story is fast-paced and will have you turning pages. The book climaxes with an epic battle and an amazing choice.

When Zagreus first let Cynna and Nick escape with plans overplayed story of them falling in love and then he learns of her supposed betrayal and over reacts without listening to her. I was so very happy to see that the story played out very differently from the way I was expecting it to.

The story as a whole was very unpredictable which made it really fun to read as I was pleasantly surprised through all of it. Anyone who loves Greek mythology, kickass characters with depth and epic battles will love this series. This wasn’t the first major battle in this series and I doubt it will be the last.

TWISTED built on the story set up by previous books without being predictable. The characters were interesting and grew over the course of the book and we got to see more from the characters we’ve come to love. The love scenes were as fabulous as you’ve come to know from this series. I loved this book!  My ranking of this book: five out of five stars! You can buy TWISTED here!
