Top Ten 2014 Releases I Meant To Read But Didn’t Get To

The holidays were a little busy for me. I visited family, got engaged, all that stuff. Excuses aside, these are the top ten releases of 2014 that I really meant to read but that are still gracing my TBR pile.

1. The Young Elites by Marie Lu

I was really excited for this book to come out (I even promoted the release in October), and then for whatever reason I never read it. Regardless of my excuses, it’s still sitting toward the top of my to-read list this January!

2. Into the Still Blue by Veronica Rossi

I don’t like leaving series I liked unfinished and the conclusion to the Under the Never Sky series. It’s sitting on my Kindle, but it was released at an unfortunate time when I was reading three other new releases. I’m still dying to know what happens to Perry and Aria!

3. Panic by Lauren Oliver

I’m going to be 100% honest here. I have no idea what this book is about (no spoilers please!). But I love Lauren Oliver, and this book was nominated for Goodreads Choice Awards, so I’m obviously going to read it. I own it, so on one of these cold New Hampshire days, I’m going to read it.

4. Four: A Divergent Collection by Veronica Roth

I even made this one number 4 because I’m hilarious. I’ve read one or two of these as free releases, but I haven’t read the whole thing and it’s KILLING me. Tobias is such a brooding dude and I really want to know what’s going on in his head.

5. The Reaping by K. Makansi

The Seeds Trilogy is another series that I started last year and can’t wait to continue. I actually featured this book as one of my Waiting on Wednesday picks in September and then didn’t get the chance to read it (shame on me).

6. Ruins by Dan Wells

I picked up The Partials Sequence shamefully late (read my review of Partials here!), so I haven’t made my way through the whole series yet. I actually just started reading Fragments, so hopefully I’ll be through the whole series within the next few weeks.

7. Talon by Julie Kagawa

The first book in The Talon Saga was another one of my Waiting on Wednesday picks, and I’m ashamed to say I didn’t get to read this one either. Now that I’m back in action, this will be an early 2015 read for me!

8. The Infinite Sea by Rick Yancey

I really enjoyed The 5th Wave, so Yancey’s sequel was definitely on my to-read list, but I just never got around to it. Once the dust settles on all my Waiting on Wednesday picks, I might have to circle back to this one.

9. Chasing Power by Sarah Beth Durst

I really have a lot of Waiting on Wednesday picks on this list—I swear I read some of them! Chasing Power was a bit of a random find for me, but I found the premise really interesting, pre-ordered it, and then never read it.

10. The Fire Seekers by Richard Farr

I’m the worst! I got a free copy of The Fire Seekers through my Amazon Prime membership and never read it! You can read my Waiting on Wednesday post about this one here.
