Garnet, the son of the Duchess of the Lake, has always been a spoiled playboy. But now, for the first time, Garnet is beginning to realize the horrors that his family, and the ruling community, have perpetrated. And he just may be ready to do something about it.
Garnet’s Story is a quick read, but it provides so much insight into one of the secondary characters in The Lone City series.
When we’re introduced to Garnet in The Jewel, he comes across as a spoiled, irresponsible drunk — not the type to care about the struggles of the lower class.
Garnet’s Story starts off with the same depiction, but I quickly learned there was more to him beneath the surface.
This novella is very short, so without giving anything away, I can tell you that seeing more of Garnet’s personality added so much context to The Lone City series.
I definitely recommend Garnet’s Story to fans of The Lone City series. This novella got me so excited for the final book in the trilogy, The Black Key, to come out in less than two weeks!
